On Tuesday 19th March, sister schools Francis Holland, Regent’s Park and Francis Holland, Sloane Square joined forces with Harrow School for a spectacular Bach Mass in B Minor concert.
Our Francis Holland Choirs came together with Harrow School Choral Society and Orchestra, in the majestic setting of Harrow’s legendary Speech Room. A culmination of a long-held musical partnership between Francis Holland, Regent’s Park, and Harrow, the evening was particularly special as it was the first time our FHS Sloane Square girls have performed alongside the girls from FHS Regent’s Park and the boys from Harrow in this amazing setting. And it did not disappoint! The audience were spellbound from start to finish by the magical performance; a combination of solos and choruses which showcased the immense musical talent of all three school communities coming together in exquisite harmony.
Director of Music, Helen Vickery, commented: ‘Singing the B Minor Mass by Bach with Harrow School in the beautiful oak-panelled ‘Speech Room’ was an absolutely magnificent experience. Members of the Senior Chamber Choir made the most of it and rose to meet the challenge of this really challenging and inspiring musical masterpiece. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and, with a professional orchestra and professional solo singers, was enjoyed so much by everyone.’
Thank you so much to Harrow for hosting us, and to our incredible Music Department, as well as FHS Regent’s Park’s and Harrow’s, for their boundless passion and tireless dedication in making the evening such a success. Congratulations to all performers – we couldn’t be prouder – and we look forward to many more joint concerts to come!
