Old Girl, the renowned sculptor Phylllida Barlow, dies aged 78

Phyllida left Francis Holland in 1960 and studied at the Chelsea and Slade School's of Art

Former pupil Phyllida Barlow has died aged 78. Phyllida was a Teacher of Art at the Slade School of Art for four decades before embarking on a career as a sculptor and installation artitst. Phyllida has exhibited at Tate Britain, Tate Modern, the Serpentine Gallery and represented Britain in the Venice Biennale in 2017. She became a Dame in 2021, and was awarded a CBE in 2015.
