On Saturday, 1st March 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Francis Holland Sloane Square alumni from the Class of 1962 through to the Class of 2023, along with former staff, to celebrate the 144th Birthday over lunch at FHS.
The day began with a productive AGM, attended by many, including the Co-Chair of the Old Girls’ Society (OGS) and our Head of School, Alexandra Haydon. Following this, guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the playground, basking in the sunshine while being serenaded by the talented Selma and Mika, two of our VI Form students—a huge thank you to them for their beautiful performances.
Lunch was then served in the Senior Hall, where our catering team prepared a delicious buffet, complemented by an eye-catching and equally delectable dessert table. The hall was filled with excitement and lively conversation as former pupils and staff reconnected in the beautifully arranged setting.
Guests also had the opportunity to browse archive materials from the 1960s and 1970s, rekindling memories of their time at FHS. Our February 2025 newsletter was on display, which can be read here.
During lunch, our Head addressed guests, sharing exciting developments at FHS SSQ, including the new collaboration space—a vibrant and multifunctional area designed to inspire creativity and help students develop essential life skills. The atmosphere was further enhanced by another stunning performance from Selma and Mika, making the occasion truly magical.
Following lunch, everyone enjoyed a grand tour of the school, revisiting old classrooms, playgrounds, the gym, library, and the OSH building, evoking fond memories. As a parting gift, each guest received a bespoke birthday cupcake to mark this special milestone.
A heartfelt thank you to all the Old Girls, staff, and the alumni association who contributed to making this event such a wonderful success. A big thanks to the catering team for the delicious food and service we received. We look forward to welcoming you back for many more celebrations in the future!
