Performed by a talented ensemble of FHS students in Years 7-13, the School's production of Guys and Dolls takes to the stage on Friday 27th January and Saturday 28th January at Riverside Studios, Hammersmith’s iconic arts centre situated on the bank of the River Thames.
With the bustling streets of 1950s New York as a backdrop, Guys and Dolls follows the most unlikely of Manhattan pairings: a high-rolling gambler and a puritanical missionary; a hopelessly romantic showgirl and a suave gambler desperate to find a location for his craps game. Quintessentially American in spirit, this Golden Age musical remains a timeless tale that owes its longevity not only to its multitude of memorable characters and hummable tunes (‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat’, ‘Luck Be A Lady’, ‘Marry the Man Today’…), but also to its enduring themes of ambition and self-made luck.
