Laura Diana Mee – Breathwork Workshop at Francis Holland

Old girl Laura Diana Mee (Class of 2011) is a certified breathwork teacher dedicated to demystifying holistic practices and helping individuals reconnect with their authentic selves through the power of breath.

Last Tuesday, Laura led a transformative breathwork workshop for our Year 12 pupils. The morning began with an insightful presentation on the science behind breathwork, providing a strong foundation for the techniques and practices explored during the session. She highlighted the importance of breathwork in regulating emotions and the nervous system, equipping students with practical tools to foster resilience and inner balance.

The workshop created a safe and supportive space for self-discovery, encouraging students to unlock their inner confidence, challenge limiting beliefs, and embrace their potential with renewed clarity and empowerment. The session concluded with a guided breathwork exercise, allowing the girls to put their learning into practice and experience its immediate benefits firsthand.

Here is what Julia, an LVI student, had to say about the Breathwork Workshop: "The speaker began the session by telling  us about her difficult time during the Covid Pandemic and how this had a massive impact on her anxiety and  confidence. Along with this, being in a toxic work environment worsened her situation and as a result she decided to try to improve her wellbeing through focusing on her breathwork. She walked us through the scientifically proven evidence of its benefits and gave us the opportunity at the end to take part in a breathwork session to demonstrate how useful the technique is.The speaker began the session by telling  us about her difficult time during the Covid Pandemic and how this had a massive impact on her anxiety and  confidence. A heartfelt thank you to Laura for delivering such an inspiring and unique session for our pupils!
