Senior Sports Day
On the Friday before May half term, the whole FHS community gathered in the Battersea Park Millennium Arena for one of the most epic events in the FHS calendar… Sports Day! Every year, this spectacular sporting event showcases the very best of our students’ resilience and teamwork, as the girls take to the track and field to win those all-important House points for Ashcroft, Fonteyn, Franklin and Woolf. This year, multiple school records were broken by our amazing young athletes, and the whole arena was awash with displays of camaraderie as students, staff and parents cheered on the girls and spurred them across the finish line.
The event reached its glorious peak with our wider FHS community joining staff and students for ‘The Annapurna Dash’, with each walking or running a mile to raise funds for The Elphinstone Scholarship, which truly epitomised what makes our school community so special.
Despite valiant efforts from all four Houses, the event culminated in a triumphant win for Fonteyn. Huge thank you to our wonderful PE Department for organising yet another legendary Sports Day and thank you to all who joined us. If you missed it, check out the highlights video below. We already can’t wait for the next one!
Junior Sports Day 2023
On Monday 5th June, the Junior School descended on the Millennium Arena in Battersea Park for Sports Day!
This year, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 took to the track and field events in the morning with Years 3 – 6 taking over for the afternoon. The girls excelled in competitive sprints, long jump and javelin as well as traditional sports day events like the sack race and egg and spoon.
A huge thanks to all the staff, parents and girls who made our sunny Sports Day so enjoyable. The team spirit and support that the girls showed each other was outstanding. In our morning event for Reception – Year 2, Ashcroft were crowned as champions, and in the afternoon Year 3-6 event Fonteyn claimed the trophy. Congratulations!
