Father Kenny has been at FHS for almost 20 years and so Friday’s service was particularly poignant as he bid us all farewell.
As is now tradition, the final assembly took place in the playground and, under the hot July sun, the School enjoyed musical performances from the school band. Next, the winner of the House competition was announced as Ashcroft! Then it was time for some goodbyes. Firstly it was goodbye to our pupils who will not be returning in September, we wish them well at their new schools, many of which are abroad. Then it was time to say goodbye to treasured teachers and school staff. Goodbyes were bid to staff including Mr Caselle and Mrs Corrigan before the School joined in a standing ovation for Father Kenny. It was then time to say goodbye to Mr Paul Stubley. It wasn’t long before the whole School was singing along to Sweet Caroline in a rousing send off.
Head Girl, Carolina, and Deputy Head Girl, Isabella, led us in three cheers (and one for luck) for FHS before we all departed for a lovely summer.
