The poem is particularly apt and heart warming to read given the current situation and formed part of the 'Year 9 creative TP project'

God is Always There

I often feel as though,
God is far away.
And I often feel that he
Is distant when I pray.

When I feel lonely,
No idea where to go.
Just a touch from God
Can help me on the go.

Time after time,
God seems slow to act.
I cry out in help,
But its often belief that I lack.

Because God is not slow,
He’s coming to my aid.
He comes through in his time,
I just need to learn to wait.

For God is never distant,
He is by my side.
And he is always with me,
In the good and bad of my life.

He always hears my heart cry,
And answers all my prayers.
He wont ever leave me alone.
For God is always there.

Analysis on my poem:
This poem is how I feel about God. I have been feeling more apart from God, since the Covid-19 pandemic. Yet in others I have been feeling more attached to God during this time of uncertainty. I haven’t been able to go to Synagogue and pray but I have been praying more at home and asking God for help and guidance during these anxious days, I also feel that I have been trusting God more. Sometimes I think that God is like a food delivery; you place your order, but your request doesn’t come straight away. You must wait a bit for it to come. In some ways this is like praying to God, you may pray on Monday morning but not actually see God doing his work until later in the week. Or sometimes, God is performing his magic behind the scenes and he works miracles for us that we can’t see or don’t even know about because he saves us from difficult scenarios. This poem made me realise that God is always there whether we feel it or not. Every so often, he doesn’t want to be noticed and wants us to figure things out for ourselves. So, in these difficult times, just think that God is always there when you need him, and he does everything for a reason.
