Old Girls' News |
The Upper Sixth Leavers’ Dinner was a hugely successful event, dominated by laughter but with plenty of tears as well! It would not have happened without a superb team of four Upper Sixth girls (Sophie, Tess, Annie, and Sophia) who worked closely with Mrs Margetson and Miss Stevenson to make the evening special. The dinner was absolutely delicious. Thank you, Eddie and Shireen! Highlights of the evening included a brilliant film made by Sarah Brooke and Scarlett Kane for Mrs Margetson, a wonderful speech by Sophia Acquistapace and Emily Harrison, and funny and imaginative awards for every member of the Upper Sixth. There was music from the staff choir, including a surprise solo by Mrs Elphinstone. The girls too sang very movingly. Towards the end, when it was time for a story, Mrs Hammond and Miss Stevenson read from Dr Seuss! There is general agreement that this year’s Upper Sixth really has been an outstanding year. They will be greatly missed!
On Friday afternoon, after a very moving and memorable Leavers’ Service at St Mary’s, there was a champagne reception for parents, Leavers and staff. We wish the girls good luck for the future and hope they keep in touch as Old Girls of FHS!
