On the evening of Monday 1st March, over 70 Old Girls gathered in the School Hall for a Drinks Party to celebrate the School’s 135th Birthday.
The evening was a great success, with many Old Girls interested to see which elements of the School they recognised from their school days and which have transformed! There was also much excitement at finding the board listing present and past Head Girls still very much intact and displayed proudly in the hall.
Mrs Elphinstone gave a wonderful talk explaining how the values of kindness and enthusiasm that the Old Girls remembered are still very much present at Francis Holland today. It was great to hear all about Francis Holland’s past and present, as well as how the School will move forward into the future.
Susannah Graham Campbell, Chairman of the Old Girls' Committee, thanked Sarah Mahaffy and Clare Ford-Wille who have sadly stepped down after many years of service.
We were particularly delighted to welcome a group of fourteen Old Girls who left in the 1970s and are celebrating an important birthday this year (we won’t divulge which!) and who were reuniting for the first time in over 20 years.
Overall it was a brilliant evening filled with laughter and reminiscing about old Francis Holland days. Thank you to all who attended, and we hope to welcome you back soon!
