On Thursday 5th May, the Sixth Form were delighted to welcome Francis Holland Alumna, Emma-Victoria Farr, to the Speaker Programme. Emma-Victoria left FHS in 2007, and has since pursued a career in journalism, delivering breaking news at international newswires and national newspapers. Emma-Victoria currently reports on European M&A at Thomson Reuters, and has previous experience at Mergermarket, Bloomberg, The Daily Telegraph and Deutsche Presse Agentur.

Emma-Victoria spoke to the Sixth Form about what it means to be a journalist, the resilience and dedication it requires, and the things that inspire and motivate her. The Sixth Form were enthusiastic to hear from a former Francis Holland girl and were inspired to learn about her work in what is now a female-dominated industry. We are very grateful to Emma-Victoria for coming back to FHS and sharing her sage wisdom with the Sixth Form, all of which will be extremely relevant as we prepare to enter the world of work.
