FHS archives - bringing the history of our school alive

Watch our school archive assembly here

How much do you know about Francis Holland School's history? Well, this morning, School Archivist Clive Bartram hosted an archive assembly, bringing the history of the school alive for the benefit of our pupils, staff  - and alumni community! We have recorded the assembly for you to watch, which you can access via the Vimeo link here

For clarification, we must point out that the first Headmistress after the war was Miss Margaret Bowden, who is shown in the portrait. The caption incorrectly refers to a portrait of Miss Rhoda Colvile, who didn't re-open the school after the war - that was Miss Bowden! Miss Colvile did not arrive at the school as headmistress until 1965.

Please do enjoy!
