Class of 1969 FHS alumna Dana Gillespie has just released her 69th album, 'The Perfection of Love' and will be performing at Chelsea's 606 Club on Sunday 3rd March.

Dana, an accomplished blues singer, has been recording since the 1960’s – she also acted at the National Theatre, performing in The Tempest with Sir John Gielgud, and was ‘absolutely delighted’ that FHS teachers Miss Ashby and Miss Scrivenor came to see her perform as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Palace Theatre in 1972. Says Dana, "my whole career was, in many ways, thanks to my FHS music teacher Miss Ashby, as I was the only one allowed to learn and play jazz in the practice rooms. A first in the school!"

Dana has been voted ‘Top British Female Blue’s’ vocalist by the British Blues Connection and now tours extensively with her band, ‘The London Blues Band’. You can see Dana perform at the 606 Club on Sunday 3rd March. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit  https://www.606club.co.uk/events/view/dana-gillespie-5/
