Mrs Leonie Lazarus, former English teacher at FHS Sloane Square, sadly passed away on Thursday 17th January 2019, aged 88 years.

Although she had every will to continue living, Mrs Lazarus succumbed to a battle with cancer and died peacefully and free from pain, with her family by her side, at the nursing home where she spent the final three weeks of her life.

Mrs Lazarus taught English at FHS Sloane Square for 25 years until her retirement in July 1992. She enjoyed a long association with FHS: following her retirement, Mrs Lazarus continued to attend Old Girls’ events and other social gatherings at the School. Said her daughter Corinne, “I know my mother would wish everyone associated with Francis Holland School all the very best for the future.”

Mrs Lazarus’s family will be holding a short service at the Mortlake Crematorium on Saturday 26th January 2019 at 10.40 a.m, after which everyone is welcome to join them for refreshments at The Maids of Honour tea room at 288 Kew Road, Richmond TW9 3DU.
