School assembly marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day

Today, Friday 8th May, marks 75 years since Nazi Germany's formal surrender at the end of the Second World War. This morning, the school held a special commemorative assembly.
The coronavirus outbreak means that the usual celebrations such as street parties, parades and concerts are sadly unable to go ahead this year. However, there are still plenty of ways to mark this momentous day. We began this morning with a live streaming of assembly which included poetry, readings and prayers from Year 11 and Year 13 pupils, and a musical piece from Inga in Year 8. It was wonderful to join together and mark this very special anniversary as a school.
