With 100 guests dressed to the nines in wonderfully glamorous black tie, it was the perfect opportunity for Mrs Elphinstone to share the traditions of Scotland with our International parent body. 

The event started with a bang; Fergus piped in the Haggis and Cameron Collington gave a wonderful Address – what a Scottish family to have in the School! With whisky donated by William Grant & Sons and homemade fudge at each table place, we could well have been in the Highlands.
 
The hall was superbly decorated and a big thank you must go to the SSPA, led by Mrs Rosie McCormick Paice, for their creativity and hard work to make it look so spectacular. Mrs Jo Hamlyn designed the tables, leading the group of parents in the few hours between School ending and the doors opening to our guests. We were fortunate enough to hear her exquisite Clarsach playing along with Jamina’s wonderful voice, providing beautiful Scottish duets during the meal. 
 
We are delighted to announce that the auction in aid of the Katherine Low Settlement was a huge success, raising a fantastic £6,470! The total raised has been match funded by The Childhood Trust, and a special thanks goes to our guest on the evening, Laurence Guinness, for making this possible. This means that over £12,000 will be heading to KLS - a phenomenal achievement! A big thank you is also due to all the donors – both those who donated the prizes and those who bid on them. Without your generosity, none of this would have been possible.

Having hit our target, we proceeded to Strip the Willow, Dash the Sergeant and  Reel the 51st - amongst other dances - and enjoyed traditional Cedilh music by the Frank Reid Band. All left with a Scottish lilt and a spring in our step. Here's to next year!
