We are delighted to announce Theatre and Television Director, Sarah Esdaile is set to return to FHS to speak as our next guest at the forthcoming Old Girls' Lecture on Tuesday 21st March 2023, at 6.30pm at Francis Holland School.
Sarah entertained Sixth Form pupils in May 2022 as guest of the Sixth Form Speaker Programme, when she addressed her audience of drama students with humour, emphatically retelling stories of her career as a theatre and television director with joy, passion and candour.
Sarah left Francis Holland School in 1988 for Goldsmith's College, where she read English and Drama, before completing the first Director's Course at the National Theatre Studio in 1995. She has since gone on to direct Abigail's Party for the Theatre Royal, Bath, and has directed episodes of Call the Midwife and EastEnders.
We are especially excited that this lecture will again be taking place at the School for the first time since November 2019, when campaigner and world-record holding rower, Julia Immonen spoke as our guest.
