Class of 2019's Phoebe Cox to cycle 12,000 kilometers to fund addiction programme

Alumna, Phoebe Cox (Class of 2019), wishes to raises awareness of the below fundraising initiative - Bike4Bast - in memory of her friend Seb, who sadly passed away last August aged just 21. Phoebe is cycling 12,000km, the distance from Singapore to Henley-on-Thames in the UK (his two homes), to raise £12,000 to fund one person through a full two-year addiction recovery programme at Yeldall Manor. Yeldall is a non-profit organisation, aiming to bridge the gap for those who cannot afford the 'luxury' cost of recovery programmes. It is inclusive and person-focused, set in 38 acres of Berkshire countryside, near Reading. Yeldall focus not only on detox and immediate inpatient treatment, but on continued support as the men in their programmes transition to semi-independent and independent living, reintegration into the real world and job readiness.

Said Phoebe, 'I wanted to reach out to FHA alumni - we're aiming to raise at least £1 per kilometre to help another young man have a chance at life. I am happy to discuss this with anyone via phone or email, either by email at phoebegracecox@gmail.com or on our organisation's email bike4bast@gmail.com. My number is +44 7495605513.'

For more information, please go to instagram.com/bike4bast as well as on facebook.com/bike4bast. The fundraiser is at justgiving.com/fundraising/bike4bast , with £1600 already raised, despite the challenge not starting until May 1st 2022!
