Old Girls' News |
Thank you to our alumni community, including two former Headmistresses Jennifer Anderson and Stephanie Pattenden, and several former staff members, who attended yesterday’s Old Girls’ Birthday drinks reception at FHS. Despite the pouring rain, almost 50 alumni enjoyed our drinks and canapes reception, held to celebrate the school’s 139th birthday.
From alumni who left as recently as 2016, to our ‘old girls’ who departed FHS in the 1950s, all enjoyed reminiscing about their days at FHS. Some preferred to tour the school, contrasting how it has evolved, while others thumbed through archive materials, identifying their younger selves in photographs or school magazines.
With speeches from Lucy Elphinstone and Co-chairs of the Old Girls’ Society Anne Cyron and Audrey Wiggin, alumni from the past five decades met current and former FHS staff, former peers and new acquaintances. Many were also interested in the Development Team’s digital representation of the Old School House. Formerly a boys’ school, the recently-acquired building, located nearby on Ebury Street, will provide a new Sixth Form centre, increasing our current footprint by 15%.
Keep an eye on our Events page to see what’s upcoming with alumni events – this year is already shaping up to be a busy year for FHS alumni!
