The festivities began with our annual church celebration, for the first year ever in Holy Trinity, Sloane Square. As is our tradition, all the girls decorated their hair with daffodils and heartily sang a number of hymns in true Francis Holland style!
Following the service, the senior school proceeded to wait patiently by the side-lines of the netball court for the highly anticipated staff vs pupils netball match! Both teams played to win, deploying equally competitive tactics! The girls triumphed with a 12 - 5 victory demonstrating their finely honed skills (thanks to Mrs Hogg's superb coaching). Clearly the staff missed Mrs Elphinstone's expertise this year, in the Centre, as she was unable to play with her broken arm.
Following the netball match, the Junior School were treated to their surprise entertainment consisting of a spectacular Chemistry Science Show which wowed the girls. Meanwhile the Senior School were sent into a trance by an incredible show of hypnotism where Sixth Formers were made to forget their names and left unable to move their limbs, while staff were turned into zombies! The morning's thanks for our founder, Francis Holland, was followed by much hilarity later on. Staff and pupils celebrated together in true FHS style and it was wonderful to be reminded how fortunate we are to share such a warm and happy community.
